Coronavirus (COVID-19) 7/15/2020
General Update

The Coronavirus continues to take a toll on the world and make life more challenging for all.  Atrium Centers Inc. is fully committed to maintaining all services critical to the welfare of our residents, their families and visitors. Our employees are working round the clock to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.  We are receiving regular updates and advisories from public health agencies, and are in routine contact with them.  Atrium Centers’ employees have been diligent in implementing and following all new guidelines despite the information and conditions changing by the minute.

I would like to thank all of our families and friends for your patience and diligence in assisting us in our new protocols and policies.  I know that we all wish that this was over, but unfortunately it seems that many of our new protocols for preventing exposure to COVID-19 will be our new normal.   I would like to once again recognize our fantastic employees. They have taken all of the changes in stride and have been working extensive hours in order to keep our patients and each other safe. They are extremely dedicated, hard-working, and compassionate.   I am so very proud of how resilient and committed they have been to our communities during this challenging time. When you see them, please join me in sharing your appreciation for their hard work (from a distance of course).

You may have heard that many of the states we have communities in are easing their restrictions on visitors.  While we have concerns about visitation, we certainly want our patients to stay in close touch with their families and friends. There will be state-specific requirements for visitation and they will be strictly enforced.  Requirements will vary by state depending on what is currently going on in each community related to COVID-19. Visitation requirements could could change by day.  We will be sharing the state-specific requirements in the upcoming weeks.  We ask for your continued patience and understanding, as well as compliance in following our guidelines. The Coronavirus has not gone away and the number of incidences will continue to rise as the country eases its overall restrictions and opens up communities. This certainly makes managing the spread of infection more challenging for everyone. We highly suggest that if you plan to visit your loved one that you refrain from going out in the community to keep your potential for exposure as minimal as possible.  This is so important as we continue to protect your loved one in our community and our staff.

Please stay tuned for further information.  We appreciate your patience while we work hard to maintain the well-being of our residents and employees.  We also encourage you to continue to keep in touch with your loved one via phone, Skype, or Face Time. Please contact the Administrator of the community and they will be happy to assist you.   We sincerely hope that these restrictions will end soon and we will keep you updated as circumstances change.

Please make sure that your contact information has been updated.  If you have questions or need additional information, you may contact the Administrator at the community.  We are continuing to monitor this evolving situation and will keep you posted on any new developments. Skilled Nursing in a Home-like Setting

Kingsford is a name that is synonymous with gatherings and get-togethers. It is a brand of charcoal that can be found in the backyard barbeques of families and friends across the country. Kingsford, Michigan is perfect for our Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Our residents are surrounded by a family atmosphere and our quality culture.

Our 2010 National Quality Award winning community is known as the “Freeman Family.” Our staff members not only care for our residents, they care about them. Each resident is treated like a family member: with honor, respect and dignity. And, each staff member provides the best of comfort and care. Daily activities are designed to benefit the needs of each resident and include meals cooked from scratch.

Our Community Features

Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Community is a 45-bed residence. It features a private garden with gazebo, a pond and a paved pathway. Furniture and décor create a home-like feel and the warm smiles of our staff members create a welcoming atmosphere.

Our Community Services

Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Community is a skilled nursing community which promotes a quick return home, a short respite stay, or a transition for a long-term stay. Rehabilitation residents are placed together and long-term residents are placed together, so that similar care goals are kept in mind. A team of professionals provide comprehensive therapies including physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapy to help restore lost abilities, strength and function. Our services help restore the quality of life to our residents and enable them to reach the highest level of independence possible.

The Right Choice

Choosing the right nursing center can be a difficult decision for the potential resident and family. We understand the emotional process of placement and strive to help with the adjustment for both the resident and his or her family. In fact, many of our staff members have had relatives and friends choose our center because of our family atmosphere and quality nursing care services.

  • Many long-term staff members
  • Pleasant living environment
  • Trained and dedicated staff
  • Great community reputation and involvement
  • Excellent location to visit
  • Hospital and physician offices nearby
